Autobiography

Professional experience

Previous jobs

  • Robert Bosch Foundation, Stuttgart (free worker agreement) - Assistant in organization of the intergovernmental conference “Social Conditions and Instability in the North Caucasus”1 (2006-10-01 00:00:00.0 - 2006-10-01 00:00:00.0, Berlin)

To sum up, I better mastered during this work the following:
    - Time management,
    - Online Team work under deadline pressure in the preparation phase,
    - Work in a highly international team (I had to speak English, German and Russian at the same time, both in person and on the phone)
    - Organizational skills,
    - Quick reaction to urgent issues and quick responsiveness to the needs of other organizers and participants (during conference).

  • Embassy of Luxemburg in the Russian Federation - intern2 (2006-08-01 00:00:00.0 - 2006-09-01 00:00:00.0)

To sum up, I better mastered the following :
    - Team work,
    - Intensive everyday phone and direct communication with people from different countries, training several foreign languages at once,
    - Organizational skills,
    - Behavior during events, receptions held at Embassies with their particular culture,
    - Skills of writing, translation, information gathering and analysis,
    - Work under time pressure.

  • Robert Bosch Foundation, Stuttgart (free worker agreement) - Assistant in organization of the intergovernmental conference “Problems of Human Rights Monitoring in Chechnya” in Berlin1 (2006-03-01 00:00:00.0 - 2006-03-01 00:00:00.0, Berlin)
  • Embassy of Luxemburg in the Russian Federation - intern2 (2005-09-01 00:00:00.0 - 2005-09-01 00:00:00.0, Москва)
  • German Business Association in the Russian Federation - intern2 (2005-07-01 00:00:00.0 - 2005-08-01 00:00:00.0, Москва)
  • Representation of Baden-Württemberg by the European Union - intern (with financial support of the Robert Bosch Foundation)1 (2003-12-01 00:00:00.0 - 2003-12-01 00:00:00.0, Брюссель)
  • DaimlerChrysler Financial Services AG - intern at the Communications Department (internship program with scholarship by the non-profit German-Russian Forum)1 (2003-08-01 00:00:00.0 - 2003-09-01 00:00:00.0, Berlin)

My important achievement was getting acquainted with the work process in a large corporation and learning the corporate culture with its specific communication and organization patterns. It was challenging and extremely interesting, as I was surrounded and mentored as an intern by highly-qualified professionals.
I consider myself to have grown professionally, especially in the field of corporate PR. I also got closer acquainted with the field of financial services that is directly related to the field of automotive industry, which is a useful experience, no matter in what field I will be working in.

  • Administration of the Oswego City (NY, USA) - intern within the Department of the Community Development1 (2003-01-01 00:00:00.0 - 2003-03-01 00:00:00.0, Oswego, NY)

This used to be a very positive learning experience. I completed my internship during my participation in the exchange program by IREX (Intercultural Research and Exchanges Board) and hence parallel to my year study of journalism and mass communications at State University of New York in Oswego. During this internship, I got the opportunity to put the theoretical knowledge, which I was acquiring in the USA in the field of journalism and mass communications, right there into practice, working with the American professionals in small business from the area of Oswego County.
I especially practiced preparation of newsletters and my interviewing skills.

  • non-profit 3-language newspaper for culture and education "FreeDom" (in Russian, with rubrics in English and German) - newspaper developer, fundraiser, editor-in-chief (voluntary work)1 (2001-11-01 00:00:00.0 - 2005-05-01 00:00:00.0, Omsk)

My achievement was that the project, which I once put on paper during the Stanford conference for young leaders from Russia and the US in April 2001, was actually implemented and the money were actually successfully fundraised – the overall support during 4 years amounted around 8000 dollars from the Robert Bosch Foundation, IREX and some private donations.
During these 4 years of my voluntary work at this non-profit media project in my native city Omsk, I gained large amount of practical experience in fields of journalism, editing, team management and projects fundraising, I learned how to adapt to stressful situations and how to motivate my voluntary team, which is especially hard while working at a distance with the majority of the team members, who are NOT getting paid for their work. This used to be a great experience in building a non-profit project though networking via modern technologies.
This was indispensable learning experience for me as a project leader, I experienced intensive training of my interpersonal skills in a highly international surrounding, and I am very willing to put the gained experience in working at development and implementation of more large-scaled Russian and international projects, whether profit or non-profit ones.
